ReplyDelete“NO ARGUING TO THE REF.” growled the referee in a stern voice cutting the desperate All Black short. The game was now back into action after the momentary pause of a casual conflict expected in such an intense match. The All Blacks were competing against France in the final to see who would take home the Rugby World Cup. The ball went whistling past one player’s ear and the two teams viciously engaged, determined to come out on top. The vast crowd shouted and applauded like a pack of parading animals while the commentator- who looked more exhausted than the players themselves did- hastily explained the progress of the game to entertain the viewers at home. It was absolutely chaos with the score at 20-15 with 2 minutes left on the clock. France was winning but WHAT WAS THIS?! The All Blacks retaliated with a brutal try and the score was evened up to 20-20. 1 minute was now left and the France rugby team and the All Blacks had renewed determination and confidence on their faces as they took on the final minute of the final match of the Rugby World Cup…

Oxygen is growing shorter,
The gap is growing farer,
Our drive is wearing,
But the opposition is bearing,
I make a wish and take a risk,
Holding my wheezing chest and feeling brisk,
I tackle, kick and dive in a lonesome effort to score a try,
But alas, my throat is so dry,
I can hold on no longer and grow eager for the whistle,
I trip while clasping the ball and make a bitter blue fall.
I sense the end is nearing now,
Getting ready for a solemn bow,
The game was great but truth be told I’d rather be home making some dough.

The Haka has finished and now Dan Carter is kicking off, he kicked in the corner and it curved like a wind flew your umbrella away, Richard Kahui caught the ball with his sensitive hand, but now it's dirty.
