This term our writing focus is Narratives. We will be looking closely at the structure and language features of this type of writing - so lets get the party started!
Use the image of the haunted house to describe a possible setting for your own narrative with a Halloween theme - think carefully about utilising your 5 senses to describe this creepy location. 100 words limit - happy creative writing team!
As you walk past your neighborhood, you see children playing in their front yards and clean beautiful homes full of joy and happiness. Them all of a sudden the sky turns dark, the moon comes out, and it smells of rotten food and dead bodies. Them you look up, you get a sudden feeling of butterflies, sadness and fear of what this terrifying house holds inside. It drags you in, you suddenly become curious, the gate creaks as you open it, you see rust and spiders on the gate when you walk in it looks like the spiders are steering at you. The path is covered in gravel and the crows steer at you and fly at you, but you duck. As you walk up the path the smell gets worse and worse, and the steps creak as you walk up them and it feels like a ghost is following you as you walk to the door. The door opens slowly and then all of a sudden………….

ReplyDeleteCreaking floorboards, rattling windows, the walls glow a ghostly faded grey and bone-chilling drafts sweep in like lost spirits, followed by a musty, disturbing smell... A view of the full moon can clearly be seen from the feared building, whilst dead trees surround it on the ground below. Rumours have been spread around the streets, most misleading, however there has been a confirmed story of a brave man who once ventured into the house… and never came back… Lights have reportedly been seen flicking on and off at different times of the day and witnesses say the house ‘moans’ overnight. The house was declared unsafe to live in on 2001 due to the poor building materials wearing out, but the demolition plan had not been able to get underway because of numerous ‘accidents.’ Perhaps there was a greater force at work…

the one thing you smell as you walk dow the doorway as you get closer to the sma bedroom to have fun is the horrible smell of dead rotting bodies. When you open the hot blistered dor the pile of bodies just fall out like the toys in you closet from the age of 3. the pure dusty air just has a incoseivable taste of mold .

Musty, creepy and smelly. As I enter the rusty haunted house, creaky floor boards squeak below my feet. A cold chill runs down my spine as I take a look around. I see the shiny stars twinkle above the darkened sky, through the dusty window seal. Surrounding the old moldy house over takes the giant wrinkly trees that have been there about 2 or 3 hundred years. As I look around in the musty house I hear ghostly voices speaking quietly between the cracked walls that are covered with sticky spider webs. There was a tatted piece of old muddy material hanging on the side wall, this noted (rented out for the family that lives in 34 knotting road). Oh, on why me ?

The sun was shinning so bright, everyone was really happy suddenly the clouds went so dark the sky was as purple as a colourful rainbow.Everyone was silent the whole street was dark all of the people couldn`t see suddenly a creepy house just came from no where, the kids on the street were so scared they were crying.The house was was really old, the rooms had bones laying around in each room.There were 7 smelly room and 2 ugly bathrooms they were mud every where it was a creepy house that came out of no where.

As the house lurks on the corner of the street the windows drip with bright red blood. I hear screams coming from the basement. There are spider webs everywhere, in every corner the wallpaper is starting to peel off the walls. At midnight for one hour every night the lights flicker on and off. In one room there is blood dripping down of the closet door that spells out DIE!!!! No one has ever made it out of the house alive. They mysteriously disappear from the house I think there in the graveyard out back. The floorboards twist and turn under your feet and there is always the feeling of a ghoulish presence but the weird thing is th house is only like this on HALLOWEEN.

ReplyDeleteThe sun slowly went down leaving a trail of red in the sky. I opened the old rusty gates that would lead me to another life threatening mystery. The halls echoed with silence as you walk in through the door. I could just make out a picture of the gloomy hall. Windows dripping with fresh blood and covered in dark feathers creak and rattle letting in the fresh night air. You walk forward but regret each step as a cold drip of sweat rolls down your back. The wind squeezes its self like mad, through every hole or gap that can be found, sending a ghostly haul into every room. Shadows run on the walls making you spin around like mad trying to see who it is. Shaking with fear you wonder whether you would make it out or NOT.

Once there lived a happy old couple , but one day they had a fight! That night the neighbors heard glass breaking and windows smashing , they were worried! The next day Katie one of the next door neighbors went to take her dog Paul for a walk , she walked past the house and the clouds were dark and the moon shone bright , she was scared! As she called her friend her dog Paul went and sniffed the place out , the door slowly opened 'errrrr'. The dog got sucked into the house and the girl screamed and ran off. It’s Halloween and Bethany and her friends Ange and Rockaell are Trick or treating when they see a note slowly drifting along the cobblestone ground Bethany then picks up the tattered paper and reads the front as her friends try to look over Bethany’s shoulder and read too. The paper reads ‘Halloween Party at 1906 Minims Rd starting tonight at 6:30’.
ReplyDeleteThat night they arrive at the house and a large bright strike of fork lighting hits the ground and the gates slowly get rattled in the wind as they stumbled toward the gates but Bethany finds she is the only one not stumbling and accidentally shouts out her catchphrase “you may be scared but I’M going in anyway!” her friends jump back in horror as a semi-transparent man emerges through the cracked ground and kidnaps Bethany, her LEGO brick costume and all.
Her friends follow the strange man and they run after the man round to the back of the dark grey house as another bolt of fork lighting strikes the ground and they catch a glimpse of a giant old hot tub going on ‘FULL HEAT’ and then they are there to witness the demise of their old friend. They start to cry but then they remember Bethany isn’t a curly haired freckly girl for nothing she’s smart and knows a good nutrition diet and can sprint as fast as possible and they also remember about the ground, it is grey and cracked and full of jagged stones……

I know my post was suppose to be a ‘you choose how it ends’ story but I feel like finishing it so yeah here it the ending:
ReplyDelete…… Full of jagged stones so they signal her to run toward the Tall, Dark house.
When they found their way in they noticed the man was chasing them so they ran up the stairs, each one creaking as they are stepped on but not the last 7 steps, they are missing and they can’t stop so one by one they leap over the gap without a thought but Ange is slightly more rotund then the rest and she disappears down the hole. Without realising what had happened to their friend they keep sprinting through the ghoustly second story of the house, but I’m sure you know not to go into a mansion being chased by a ghost on Halloween when the moon is full, don’t you?
Well…. Now they are trapped in the second story on a balcony in a big masion being chased by a ghost on Halloween when the moon is full at Midnight! They leap and luckly they land in a deep swimming pool, but not lucky because it was EMPTY!
Mwahahahahaha ….. ha , uh , ha?

In the haunted house my first sense to react was sight i was walking up to the house because Zac dared me to stay for 1 night and i'm not a chicken. so yeah I walked up the creaky steps and a light caught my eye. I seen a shadow move and then a floating body a girl in an old shredded sleeping dress. Man did I get scared I looked down on the porch and something started appearing. In blood it said "leave now and don't come back". I'm still not a chicken so i ran straight in and didn't stop till the door closed. Secondly touch it felt like i was being watched well i was because you know the house is haunted so of course I was being watched because I you know wasn't alone so there for I wasn't alone so yeah I was being watched but what by. I think it was a ghost but again i think it was a superalcoholicalantidisastablishmentareismadon or a zombie. it was very cold like you know if the hot water cylinder in your house runs out of hot water. like it goes really cold like ice well that's not what the air felt like a little like chilly like yeah. Next sense to go crazy was taste it all tasted really salty and musty but i like salt so it didn't really mind me. The smell was the next sense to go bang it smelt like old people really dusty and it was horrible. So i pulled out my supersencativelyanleatonionabonacolastakalaka 2000 and I couldn't smell any thing now. I'm not a chicken remember. So last but not least sound. I could hear a lot of things like footsteps and cries and moans and creaks and the scariest was a fly buzz past man I got scared but i'm not a chicken. so I walked up stairs and then a voice shot out calling me a chicken so i guess i am a chicken and I shot out across the porch and ran all the way home. booooom

ReplyDeleteLooking down your street and evry single house down your street is lighting up except for one spooky house....Its always been a wounderful day and today was one of those days.But as it has been getting closer and closer to halloween the house ust seems to be getting spookyer and spookyer!!!It is only two more days unti halloween and the house down the road is begining to creep me out.Halloween day and its only 5:30 the suddenly I here someone screaming from the house across the road and then it hit you, you suddenly knew that their was something suspicious about the man that lived there!!

Its dark in the house you dont know were your going.The floors started to shake and you start to get a bit to scared to stay so you tryed to run back out the door but you couldnt find your way out(it was to dark).It was 5:30 and then you here that scream and its getting louder and louder as you start to cry you never found your way back out again...........

It is Friday the 13th and the time is 9:00pm, today is Halloween day and little kids are going trick or treating. This happy boy went to a spooky house, the kid knock on the door and the door was automatically open. Somebody whispered "Come in", so the walked in the house, the door was shut, and heard a BANG! on the door. The kid was scared and tried to get out of here, everything was locked and the ghost showed his face right in front of him, "Boo!" "Ahhh!" the kid is scared. The white ghost apologized to the poor boy, the ghost offered him for some food, it was raw fish, snake skin, mouse tail and and alive bees. The boy stayed at the haunted house a night, they were watching Paranormal Activity 3, there was a lot of banging it sounds like there's an earthquake, the speaker was really loud. After the movie finished, he went to sleep, he is real uncomfortable with the sleeping on the stairs. 7:00am the mum is looking for the son, the son was chilling out outside and the mum saw him, he went back inside and told the ghost that he's going home now, but suddenly the ghost was actually wanting to murder him, the house disappeared and the mum is crying really bad.

As I walk down to the last house on the corner of Green Lane. The lights start to flicker in every house but one . I run across the road to the house when I noticed I walk to the wrong place it was the whitch I turned around around a voice spock and said you will not beable to see your family again I asked who was it no one talked. The house moved left and right over and over again there was a crack from every wooden plank. I peed my pants a young boy said help Frank help AHAHAH! it was to late blood started to come out of the window it was like a water fall most of the house was moss and the rest was black paint the wooden planks where held by one nail each. Later on I saw my little brother running outside the door so I took him. We go to someones house as we walk in the door we can see the walls ripping and was full with red and suddenly we hear something we saw a ghost chasing us outside so we rapidly run and go to the stairs as walk into it you can hear the creaking so we just walk in one by one. After we made upstairs we hid into the closet and we were really quiet mean while the closet door starting to open...eeeek.....eeek...

... June 28th 1999 a day to remeber for the rest of your life. The sun shined bright as a normal morning the roosters made their normal morning noises and also the sound of loud birds chirping. It started off as a normal morning for every neighbour hood , the normal morning had been very normal until...There was no shinning sun , no birds up in the tall live trees no roosters making their sounds to complete this morning. Everybody was worried but the thing that stood out the most was this one house which was named the haunted house on Fairy St , no one ever new why that house had just been sitting there for years with no one living in it. ReplyDeleteThe house is dirty, wet and muddy. First the kitchen is looks really dirty and smells are really disgusting!!!! The closet there have spider web with died rat. And the windows with curtains are all broken down and looks like the curtains are ripped by cats and scissor. The foods in the fridge are all decay and the drinks are all changed by bugs or rats. Second room is bathroom and bath is dirty and the water in the bath is all spider web, third and last room is bedroom and there are spooky and looks like ghost is living in the room and the wind from broken window sounds like something crying. the black cat inside of room looks like death of Grim Reaper all of house is death and wet.

You must beware the house that you have never been before. If you go inside by curious, sneaking to the house. It is not real what you look, in house you will think it is peaceful. As I was walking down the road there was a dark smoky fog and behind that fog was a dark purple house the fog dessaperd and then it fell into darkness in an instant dark glumy clouds formed aroud the house filled with rain.I went towards the door to say hi to the new neghibours and it open by its self ehhhhhhh.Then I walked inside there was cobwebs and broken lights going on and off as if the was a ghost in the house turning them off and on.It smelt like socks and then there was a screm ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I instantly got out and ran away.
