Last weekend I travelled to Dunedin to relax and recover from the busy term at Riccarton Primary. What a lovely place to visit! We were lucky enough to be staying in the Clearview Appartments that were located up on a very steep hill but had a spectacular panoramic view of the beach from the main lounge. The main highlight of the trip was a visit to the Cadbury’s Chocolate Factory – yummy! On arrival you get to tour the displays and discover the history of the production of chocolate. The second part of the tour involves you actually going through the factory and into a gigantic purple silo that contains a tonne of tepid chocolate. The tour involved lots of quiz questions to keep you focussed and of course the reward for responding accurately to the questions was … you guessed it -CHOCOLATE! So I’ll trial a question here to test all you chocolate fans – how long does it take to make chocolate jaffas? Post your answers here! Happy holidays – Mrs Y :-)
-How long does it take to make chocolate jaffas? I think it takes less than 30 minutes to make but requires a minimum of 2 hours of refrigeration. My holidays were very boring except for the time it snowed, my brother and I had a snowfight but most of the time I hid behind my snowfort!
The holiday was good but when the snow was come me and my family were jast stay inside and not came out. And when I get out with my sisters( who is my cousin) they were too cold go out so I get my sister to take away to home,,, and that day I was little sick. 29th of June,, my church have big parade,, so that day night I was go to my church and pray to God and having good bible story to my missionary,, and I have new mind,,, I was having good days at holiday and some good thing to do. ( ann )
My holidays were quite boring- except, for the time it snowed. My brother and I had built massive snow forts to prepare for our snow fight and we armed ourselves with gloves, coats and beanies. I hid behind my snow fort gathering mounds of snow to give me an infinite amount of ammunition, and when I finally threw my first one… I missed. I was then bombarded with snowballs before I ducked for cover and anxiously waited for the firing to stop. A snowball hit the top edge of my snow fort and sent sprinkles of snow into my ears and mouth. I shrieked and came out of hiding with a jagged snowball and gathered strength in my arm as I threw it at him. He dived to dodge it, so he lay sprawled on the ground. That gave me an opportunity so I quickly formed a rough snowball and brutally threw it at his head. Bulls-eye! He stopped in disbelief as the snow crumbled off his head and said “You got me there,” Then he hastily stood up with a snowball in his hand so I desperately leaped over my snow fort, grasping the edge for support and landed back into safety just as a snowball went flying past me and hit the house window. Oops! It was a fun day but it was a shame I forgot to take any photos.
At 25th of July my cousin sister have holiday so our family were visit to littleton to having some rest and memory some NZ's thing.. after that our family were have big problem.. becouse my two cousin sisters was sick.. becouse of long time cartrip,, but they were ok now...^*^
During the school holidays what I got up to was snow lots of it me and my brother raced out there and had a epic snow fight, I didn't have so I used socks it didn't work out and also we had spills frostiness and fun lots of it.On some other days I laid in my bed got warm and relaxed playing PS3 ahhh!I finished 2 games during the holidays.On the last day of the school holidays I thought and said this should be the best day ever and it was we went to tothills maze a kiwiana maze with my friend and my brothers friends there names Josh,Jack,Jayton and my parents got involved as well.The teams were me,Josh,Jack the opposing team Mum,Dad, Reuben,Jayton they won then we went to have pizza then got lollyfied at the park.

I did nort but stay and chill out until the snow full .I started to have fun ,then as i was doing stuff at rosella reserve i saw this guy on his quadebike with a guy sit in a sled being pulled by the quadebike . Then they offered me on the sled.So here I was having fun for one of the only times in my life trying not to full off when holding on to a sled going 30-40kmh .I miss the fun in the snow and going down to hornby mall with soaking feet.Me and me mate were just casuly walking down to hornby mall WHEN ... it started snowing again.Then we all died
but we some how lived to tell the storey in this day .Guess what I didn't get on purpose happily ? THE PHOTOS YAY
Wednesday the 25th of July. First I woke up and went to my youth group holiday program. We got there and played some games just before we went to Rangiora to go swimming at their Dudley park Aquatic centre. We were there from10:30 to 12:30 then we had some of our lunch then we got back in the vans and went back to Christchurch. When we got back to the La Vida centre we played more games and at 3:00 we all cleaned up and went home. Thursday the 26th 2011. As I did on Wednesday I woke up and went to the La Vida centre and played some games then we got into the vans and drove to the Alpine ice centre and went ice skating and that was my first time ever! Going ice skating and I was great! We left at 12 O’ clock and went back.
Last week,it snowed.Early in the morning Faridun,Shabbier and I went outside in the icy cold.We wore our lick,warm jackets and long socks.You could hear the snow crunching under your feet as you slowly walked out,you could feel the cold breeze on your skin.Just as I was about to turn around something strong and cold smashed against the surface of my skin,i should have known my brother would start a snowball fight.I bent down and rolled the tips of my fingers on the cold white fluff as I grabbed a handful of snow.As I started to shape it,using the palm of my hand,it didn't feel that soft anymore,instead it was stiff but melting.I aimed and threw it at my brother,but my arms were so cold i could barely feel them.i got hit a couple of times but I wouldn't say my shots were too bad. During the school holidays my Dad, brother and I all went to Naseby to stay for the week end are road trip started in Riverton then we drove to Clyde it take us over two hours to get there. My brother and I both fell a sleep in the car. We had to drive another one hour to get to Naseby. We meat up with our couisn and are friends. When we arived in Naseby my uncle had bought a slead. We went down hill every one went on it my couisn Sam went so fast that she fell 100 off the slead. We stayed at Naseby moter camp we walked throw the,bushes seven people who where in the Alexandra ice hockey team one off the players fell in to the dam. They told us where the dam was so we walked to the dam and so four more hockey players. I was the first person to go on the ice then everyone else got on the ice and it started to crack.
Well ,in the holidays I went to the movies with my sister and my friends at westfield mall it was a great movie.On sunday I sleeped over at my friends house we went on the computer,play games it was fun, on that night my friends dad said its snowing outside but we didnt believe him because we were more focus on the gmae but not outside.My friend lift up the curtains it was so white outside so me an my friend race outside so fast anf started playing snow fight.But my holiday was fun mostly with the snow.

Friday the 15th 06:00 am A taxi was outside my house Aunty Lanette,Richard (brother), my dad and I ran out towards the taxi. We put our massive green suitcases in the trunk and was driven to Christchurch airport. When we reached the airport we jumped on a quick two and a half hour flight to sydney airport. At the dull sydney airport we got on a long 13 hour flight to Los Angeles in the United States Of America. We landecd in LAX airport. At LAX we went through security and got all of the bags. My uncle Jim was at the airport to pick us up. Uncle Jim is a weilder so he was helping weild the new termenal at LAX. When we got to my aunty and uncles house the adventure begain.My aunty Jane, uncle Jim and cousin Kaitie live in Long Beach just out of L.A. My time included watching Grunyungs (fish) run, camping, swimming, aquirium, L.A zoo, Irvine Wild Rivers waterpark, the Queen Mary, Disneyland, Hollywood, watching squrriells, stalking racoons and visiting a city called Carlsbad. On Saturday the 30th of July 12:30 am we jumped on a 12 hour flight to Brisbane airport from Brisbane a 3 hour flight back to the amazing Christchurch. :)
my two week holidays ... my fascinating holidays was very interesting because there were times where it was boring then times where i actually had fun.the most time i had allot of fun was the SNOW DAY ;),that day was the best snow day ever.The snow day started like this , at 2:00am in the morning I went for a drink , I look outside the window and all i see is white, I run into the room and yell at Salote from room nine , she gets up and runs into the kitchen , we put our warm clothes on and run outside , we had a big snow fight. Then later on that morning , we got up and went back out side , we decide to go to mine , once we arrived my brothers were already making a snow man it was big , after i did somethings we went to the park and see how many cars went past , it was a very fun day and hope it will snow again :) THE END !
On Monday 18th of july I woke up and went to my cousins to play Fifa 11 which is a virtual soccer game.It started well for me as I won two games the first was 3-2 and the second 4-0,then on the final game I lost by peanlte shot out.On the day it snowed I was slepping over at my cousins house when my cousins little brother yelled with excitment around the room saying there was snow outside,everyone including me ran to the frosty window and saw snow as white as haven dancing everywhere.The next day I was still at my cousins house and I saw through the cold thin window and the grass was reborn over the night as snow,then I saw my little cousin running with joy in the snow then in a second he was crying becase his bigger brother hit him straight in the face he ran back inside saying I hate snow.
On Saturday the first day of school holidays, my brothers and I travelled by bus to Queenstown. We stopped a lot and it took ages to arrive but we did so then as soon as we arrived my dad collected us and took us to McDonalds it was fun. We then got home and watched movies the rest of Saturday. When it snowed we made an igloo, a snowman, a ramp and a wall. Firstly the snowman, it was taller than Nishiel but brock broke it by smashing into it and punched it over. Now the igloo brock through a small axe at it and demolished it. The ramp I broke by hitting Harrison as he was going down a slope across the road and I went flying over the boogie board and face planting into it. The wall Harrison smashed his head into it and had a really saw neck after. He also almost snapped his knee by crashing into a rock going down a massive slope trying to save the other boogie board (show off much). Anyway that was my holiday and it was awesome.
I woke up as normal looked outside and I opened my eyes as wide as I could .I went over to my nana and said “ITS SNOWING”, ran out side then I could feel the coldness run down my spine and touch my face, then I ran back in side as fast as I could, I ran like a cheetah so fast. I grabbed my shoes, my jacket and ran back out side. As I walked it the snow crunched like I was eating a lollypop but after a while my foot steps turned into mushy sloppy water. When I started to make a snow man it was so hard but in the end it really didn’t look like a snow man it really looked like a weird rock I laughed it was so hilarious. The next day I went to a holiday program at the La Vida Centre, on the way we went to the dairy I got a cream bun, but when we tried to reverse the car stopped and we couldn’t move my face just dropped I thought not now just not now, so we had to forward and we nearly went over the foot path. When we got there the first thing we did was skidded on the ice and I kept on nearly slipping and when I did it felt so hard but the ice was so smooth. Sorry it’s around 200 Brianna
yes the holidays , I wish there was a four week holiday, but without my complaining I had an awesome holiday to the movies, on my first week of the holidays. I went to the movies with my mum, brother, cousin and I, went to watch Harry Potter and the deathly hallows part 2, it was a very cool movie with some pop corn to munch on and a fizzy drink to slump on. On Tuesday I looked outside to see a wonderful bright snowy day. So I decided to cutch on a warm jacket, pants, socks, boots and gloves. I walked outside and stood there too cold to go outside but I didn’t want to miss the snow so I walked on the snow white snow and started to build a snow man. I got to cold so I went inside to have a nice warming hot chocolate with some mash mallows on top. Helena

Last week the 25th of July..5:00...guys guys wake up!!!it was my mum really noisy watching the snow on the window I was still really sleepy that time but when I look up to the window I could see most houses covered with snow and it was my first time seeing snow.I suddenly jump off on the bed and ran outside I wear my shoe and jacket on our laundry at first I could feel the coldness outside.My family saw me outside playing with the snow so they also ran outside my dad was taking the camera to take a picture of us.I was already cold so I ask my mum if I could stay inside and have a hot chocolate and they also go inside to drink the hot chocolate as well.After drinking my hot chocolate I go outside and I make a big snowball...and it was fun....we also play snow fight... On Monday the 18 of July, me and my outstanding friend Nishiel went to the stampede Riccarton mall. Nishiel and I went to watch a comedy movie called Kung Fu Panda 2, it was at 12:15pm and movie starts at 12:30 pm and it finished at 2:00pm, afterwards we hang around the mall because we don't want to go home, too bored. And so we went home at 3:30pm, when I got home I played Fifa 05. It was a good day. Monday the 25 of July, I woke up and saw the snow, so I decided to go outside and made a gigantic snow fort. But first I made a snow angel, well apparently, it was an EPIC FAIL!snow angel, it turned into a circle.I went back inside because it was freezing,I walked back like a penguin, my whole entire body was numb. Vehar :D 157 words. I think making chocolate Jaffas takes about 15-20 minutes
On Sunday 24th at around 11:00pm I got woken up by my brother, he told me to come outside. But because I was in my pyjamas my face was being covered in tiny flakes of snow. On Monday once again I was awakened by my irritating brother to be told to go out, when I got out there I got attacked by my brother and fell into the cloud like snow. Later that day we went to pick up Madi (she had never seen snow before)! We spent all afternoon making being totally silly in the snow. To my surprise she was allowed to sleepover. The next night when my cousin Danny arrived for my brother and about a second after he arrived we ran outside into the cold and had a snowball fight on teams only to loose. At the end of that amazing day we snuggled up for a sleep! That Thursday we went to the park and went on the flying fox and the super long slide running down a steep hill. At the end of the week Madi was still at our house she had stayed 5 fun nights!!!

well in the holidays I went to the beach every day even when it snowed. Fluffy white snow is all I could say all around my house was snow like a invasion but friendly-ish I kept getting bombarded with snowballs from my family, well at the beach everyone was there making snowmen and throwing snowballs at them it was fun but the best part was that I brought a skin board with me and went sliding down the sand dunes or should i say snow dunes, the most annoying part was falling off and face planting into the ground now i have cuts on my chin.

Everyday of my holidays,spent at my big boaring home. A minuet has passed and my holidays have just begun.Clean,clean,clean thats what my holidays were full of. Everyday, my holidays were cleaning the house or babysitting. But one day was the moste funest day of my life. We went to Chimpmunks to celebrate my neases brithday, she was turning two. everyone got her a present for her birthday and i got her a light blue teddy bear and a box of chocolate biscuits. At the Chimpmunks there was a very long soft blue slide and I took the birthday girl (Pristine) up the slide and she loved it.
last week i was with my pauline and my cusion and my older sister in the snow we whent out side and had a snow ball fight after the snow ball fight we bilt a huge snow man.next we went for a walk down to the riccarton mall to see all of the snow.we where going to go in to the mall but it was closed.so we decided to walk back home when we ans stayed in side by the warm heat pump and had hot choclate after the hot choclate we when out side to have a snow fight we made a long and huge wall the next day after that the snow was going away but we could not ride our scooters we had to walk around beacause it was icey so we stayed in side beacuase it was so cold and just done the same thing as the day befor. Last week I got the coolest holiday ever on Monday me and my brother was playing in the computer on the afternoon I was playing in the snow. Suddenly then my brother and I, where playing snowball and making snowman, then finally we take a photo of are snowman with my brother and sisters, then finally are niebour was making a fortress on their front door after the snow was gone me and my family were going to the mall and buying a 2 PS3 game after the mall we go home and play the PS3 game it was cool the last day of the holiday me and my brother were playing soccer near Riccarton high school me and my family were going to the church
In the holidays Nishiel, TJ, Tommy and I went to Rannerdale park to play soccer. We were all into the game until this man came and taught us things we already knew. So we just pretended that we didn’t know what he was teaching us. We told a huge lie and told him that we were down here for a soccer tournament. We also said that we were from Auckland . We said that our next game is at Leslie park at 2 o clock. For the rest of the night I just played ps2 for the whole night. The next day my sister arrived back from Tonga. It was very good to have her back. That day we went out to the movies to watch kung fu panda 2,man it was hilarious. Then we went out for lunch at Mc Donald’s. jope

On Monday 18th of july I woke up and went to my cousins to play Fifa 11 which is a virtual soccer game.It started well for me as I won two games the first was 3-2 and the second 4-0,then on the final game I lost by peanlte shot out.On the day it snowed I was slepping over at my cousins house when my cousins little brother yelled with excitment around the room saying there was snow outside,everyone including me ran to the frosty window and saw snow as white as haven dancing everywhere.The next day I was still at my cousins house and I saw through the cold thin window and the grass was reborn over the night as snow,then I saw my little cousin running with joy in the snow then in a second he was crying becase his bigger brother hit him straight in the face he ran back inside saying I hate snow.

On Saturday the first day of school holidays, my brothers and I travelled by bus to Queenstown. We stopped a lot and it took ages to arrive but we did so then as soon as we arrived my dad collected us and took us to McDonalds it was fun. We then got home and watched movies the rest of Saturday. When it snowed we made an igloo, a snowman, a ramp and a wall. Firstly the snowman, it was taller than Nishiel but brock broke it by smashing into it and punched it over. Now the igloo brock through a small axe at it and demolished it. The ramp I broke by hitting Harrison as he was going down a slope across the road and I went flying over the boogie board and face planting into it. The wall Harrison smashed his head into it and had a really saw neck after. He also almost snapped his knee by crashing into a rock going down a massive slope trying to save the other boogie board (show off much). Anyway that was my holiday and it was awesome.
ReplyDeleteI woke up as normal looked outside and I opened my eyes as wide as I could .I went over to my nana and said “ITS SNOWING”, ran out side then I could feel the coldness run down my spine and touch my face, then I ran back in side as fast as I could, I ran like a cheetah so fast. I grabbed my shoes, my jacket and ran back out side. As I walked it the snow crunched like I was eating a lollypop but after a while my foot steps turned into mushy sloppy water. When I started to make a snow man it was so hard but in the end it really didn’t look like a snow man it really looked like a weird rock I laughed it was so hilarious. The next day I went to a holiday program at the La Vida Centre, on the way we went to the dairy I got a cream bun, but when we tried to reverse the car stopped and we couldn’t move my face just dropped I thought not now just not now, so we had to forward and we nearly went over the foot path. yes the holidays , I wish there was a four week holiday, but without my complaining I had an awesome holiday to the movies, on my first week of the holidays. I went to the movies with my mum, brother, cousin and I, went to watch Harry Potter and the deathly hallows part 2, it was a very cool movie with some pop corn to munch on and a fizzy drink to slump on. On Tuesday I looked outside to see a wonderful bright snowy day. So I decided to cutch on a warm jacket, pants, socks, boots and gloves. I walked outside and stood there too cold to go outside but I didn’t want to miss the snow so I walked on the snow white snow and started to build a snow man. I got to cold so I went inside to have a nice warming hot chocolate with some mash mallows on top.

Last week the 25th of July..5:00...guys guys wake up!!!it was my mum really noisy watching the snow on the window I was still really sleepy that time but when I look up to the window I could see most houses covered with snow and it was my first time seeing snow.I suddenly jump off on the bed and ran outside I wear my shoe and jacket on our laundry at first I could feel the coldness outside.My family saw me outside playing with the snow so they also ran outside my dad was taking the camera to take a picture of us.I was already cold so I ask my mum if I could stay inside and have a hot chocolate and they also go inside to drink the hot chocolate as well.After drinking my hot chocolate I go outside and I make a big snowball...and it was fun....we also play snow fight...

On Monday the 18 of July, me and my outstanding friend Nishiel went to the stampede Riccarton mall. Nishiel and I went to watch a comedy movie called Kung Fu Panda 2, it was at 12:15pm and movie starts at 12:30 pm and it finished at 2:00pm, afterwards we hang around the mall because we don't want to go home, too bored. And so we went home at 3:30pm, when I got home I played Fifa 05. It was a good day. Monday the 25 of July, I woke up and saw the snow, so I decided to go outside and made a gigantic snow fort. But first I made a snow angel, well apparently, it was an EPIC FAIL!snow angel, it turned into a circle.I went back inside because it was freezing,I walked back like a penguin, my whole entire body was numb.

On Sunday 24th at around 11:00pm I got woken up by my brother, he told me to come outside. But because I was in my pyjamas my face was being covered in tiny flakes of snow. On Monday once again I was awakened by my irritating brother to be told to go out, when I got out there I got attacked by my brother and fell into the cloud like snow. Later that day we went to pick up Madi (she had never seen snow before)!
ReplyDeleteWe spent all afternoon making being totally silly in the snow. To my surprise she was allowed to sleepover. The next night when my cousin Danny arrived for my brother and about a second after he arrived we ran outside into the cold and had a snowball fight on teams only to loose. At the end of that amazing day we snuggled up for a sleep! That Thursday we went to the park and went on the flying fox and the super long slide running down a steep hill. At the end of the week Madi was still at our house she had stayed 5 fun nights!!!

ReplyDeletewell in the holidays I went to the beach every day even when it snowed. Fluffy white snow is all I could say all around my house was snow like a invasion but friendly-ish I kept getting bombarded with snowballs from my family, well at the beach everyone was there making snowmen and throwing snowballs at them it was fun but the best part was that I brought a skin board with me and went sliding down the sand dunes or should i say snow dunes, the most annoying part was falling off and face planting into the ground now i have cuts on my chin.

ReplyDeleteEveryday of my holidays,spent at my big boaring home. A minuet has passed and my holidays have just begun.Clean,clean,clean thats what my holidays were full of. Everyday, my holidays were cleaning the house or babysitting. But one day was the moste funest day of my life. We went to Chimpmunks to celebrate my neases brithday, she was turning two. everyone got her a present for her birthday and i got her a light blue teddy bear and a box of chocolate biscuits. At the Chimpmunks there was a very long soft blue slide and I took the birthday girl (Pristine) up the slide and she loved it.

last week i was with my pauline and my cusion and my older sister in the snow we whent out side and had a snow ball fight after the snow ball fight we bilt a huge snow man.next we went for a walk down to the riccarton mall to see all of the snow.we where going to go in to the mall but it was closed.so we decided to walk back home when we ans stayed in side by the warm heat pump and had hot choclate after the hot choclate we when out side to have a snow fight we made a long and huge wall the next day after that the snow was going away but we could not ride our scooters we had to walk around beacause it was icey so we stayed in side beacuase it was so cold

Last week I got the coolest holiday ever on Monday me and my brother was playing in the computer on the afternoon I was playing in the snow.

In the holidays Nishiel, TJ, Tommy and I went to Rannerdale park to play soccer. We were all into the game until this man came and taught us things we already knew. So we just pretended that we didn’t know what he was teaching us. We told a huge lie and told him that we were down here for a soccer tournament. We also said that we were from Auckland . We said that our next game is at Leslie park at 2 o clock. For the rest of the night I just played ps2 for the whole night. The next day my sister arrived back from Tonga. It was very good to have her back. That day we went out to the movies to watch kung fu panda 2,man it was hilarious. Then we went out for lunch at Mc Donald’s. jope
